With their large and forward positioned eyes they have excellent binocular vision to locate their prey - which includes salmon, squid, sablefish and herring. These chonky tanks grow to sizes of 6-10ft and weigh up to 900lbs. All the while bearing a large resemblance to smaller Great White Sharks.
A cool fact about these incredible animals is they are able to regulate their own body temperatures through their blood!! Cold blood coming from the gills is warmed by blood coming from the body, this minimizes heat loss from the environment thus allowing these sharks to thrive in colder waters.
